It is a pleasure and a privilege for me to welcome you to the website of MMUST School of Medicine (SoM). The school of Medicine Admitted its first cohort of 17 MBChB students in Septermber 2018. As the academic and administrative leader of this young and vibrant School, I am honoured to be working together with a team of dedicated and industrious health professionals and academics to build a first-class medical school. We have designed a stimulating and an enriching learning experience that will prepare students to be the star doctors of tomorrow – doctors who will not only be proficient and culturally–sensitive care-givers, communicators and decision–makers, but, astute managers, community leaders, researchers/innovators, and life-long learners.
The challenge for the SoM is to produce the doctor who will be committed to providing adequate cost-effective and efficient care that will assist individuals their families, and communities to achieve optimum health and make informed choices for their well-being. Graduates of SoM will be advocates for health and health-related causes in their communities and play leadership roles to enhance community life. They will also participate in research for health and apply research findings in their practice of medicine.
It my hope that you will enjoy an informative and exciting visit to our website. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any further information. We should also be grateful if you would wish to make any suggestions for the improvement of this website.
